Thanks for joining our free, festive Virtual Auction and Cocktail Party to benefit the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation and our education mission (in lieu of our annual King Neptune Gala)! We exceeded our fundraising goal by more than 30% and appreciate your support now more than ever! Gifts to our Education Scholarship Fund were generously matched by the ship's godmother, Tatiana Copeland, and her spouse, King Neptune #10, Gerret Copeland.

The Foundation is a volunteer-based organization that built, owns and operates the Kalmar Nyckel. Background Launched in 1997, Kalmar Nyckel serves as a floating classroom and an inspirational platform that offers people of all ages a variety of sea- and land-based recreational and educational experiences. The Foundation also serves as a catalyst for social and economic development and outreach in and beyond the state of Delaware. The Tatiana and Gerret Copeland Maritime Center, opened in 2015, offers educational opportunities and a year-round destination for schools as well as the public to experience hands-on learning, museum quality galleries, private event and party space, and workshops for maintaining the ship.
